The only thing in this world that never fails to fill my eyes with tears is the idea of young Endou seeing his grandfather die.
I can feel my own heart ripping apart whenever I think of how awful that must had been for him. After years of thinking he was dead, and after his very long journey to find him again when Natsumi told him he was alive, I bet losing his grandfather again, that time for real and forever, was an extremely harsh blow to him.
Endou was fine thinking Daisuke was dead. He always thought his grandpa was somewhere above, taking care of him and giving him the strength he needed from the great beyond, like a guardian angel of sorts. He was happy. He thought he was making his dead grandfather smile, just the same way his notebooks and words made him smile back when he was a kid. He thought he was making his grandpa proud, sharing his own achievements with him. And, in a sense, he was, since Daisuke had no doubt Mamoru would become a great soccer player, good enough to be able to challenge the world and Daisuke himself with his skills and everlasting love for soccer, as he stated as soon as the FFI arc started (or maybe he just heard about Football Frontier/Aliea Academy and how Endou and his team kicked their asses).
He never intended to meet Mamoru, though–he would have prefered to stay aside and look at him from the shadows as he became stronger and stronger, being as proud of him as he had always been, even when he still knew nothing about him (yes, yes, I know what you might say: he was the one who approached Mamoru to begin with, telling him about Ijigen The Hand and such, but he never said “hey kid I’m your grandpa let’s sakka yarouze”; that’s something he always kept a secret). But things happened, and he couldn’t quite avoid the so longed-for reunion.
I bet he was, of course, really glad to finally talk to his dear grandson, but he would have prefered to stay away from his life and make him believe he was dead. Probably, so he wouldn’t have to suffer because of him in any way again, like his mother and whole family did. So, even if he didn’t show it and used that time to give him some encouraging last words, I bet the saddest and hardest thing to do for CS!Daisuke was to disappear right in front of his grandson’s eyes, making him go through his loss all over again. (Just look at his face. He’s doing his very best to hold his tears in and not cry in front of his team.)
Anyway, I still think Mamoru’s life wouldn’t have been the same without having met him. Not only because Daisuke probably inspired him to become a coach just as good as he was (or even better!), but because of Natsumi. I definitely think Mamoru fell in love with her (even if he took his sweet time) because of everything she had done for him and his grandpa, as she was the reason why Mamoru got to meet Daisuke in the first place. If it hadn’t been because of Daisuke, I bet he wouldn’t have married her, or not so quickly, at least. Endou might be impulsive, but he’s only so when his feelings are really strong. And I think he could never thank Natsumi enough for what she did for him, to the point that he was so madly in love with her that he just asked her to marry him as soon as he could, and, of course, she accepted because she had been in love with him too for a long time. And, as madly as I ship and love EnYaga (whowouldhaveguessedcough), and even if I’m not against EnFuyu at all, I still think Natsumi is the most perfect wife Endou could ever have or ask for. She might not be the best housekeeper, but if she keeps trying her best to be one is because of Mamoru, and I’m sure she’s often of great help to her husband as well, cheering him up and showing him her support. They make a beautiful couple, as they both are a mess, but they complement each other. I’m sure Endou became serious and smart thanks to Natsumi, while she became more human and caring due to falling in love with him and, later on, getting in a relationship with the man he loved.
So, yes. Daisuke and Mamoru make an amazing (and rather underrated, if you ask me) broship combo. For some reason, not many people seem to realise how extremely important Daisuke was during the whole story and for everyone’s lives–after all, Inazuma Eleven isn’t about Mamoru, but about Daisuke. Inazuma Eleven is Daisuke.
It’s all, I think. Gosh, letting it out feels good.
I know you’re reading this, so you’d better give Daisuke a character song or I’ll burn L5’s HQs down, Hino. First warning.
I missed the day in January and I was determined I wouldn’t forget this time. I didn’t think I was going to complete this in time and I’ve been working on it for three weeks but thankfully I finished it at the last minute.
Wait, these are fan arts?! Dude, they look like they’re canon. You matched the show’s art style so well.
Saw some folks (rightfully) complain about the Ennatsu tag being empty, so I hope you’ll enjoy this picture I made a while ago of them playing football with their kids. :)
Thank you so much! I love these! These kids look great! I also love what you did with Natsumi’s hair, she looks really pretty.
I love the thought of Endou teaching his kids soccer — especially about being a goalkeeper — and it’s nice to see that one of them has a different position too. And the kid’s hair is spiked like Gouenji’s. That’s so cute. I bet Kidou and Gouenji are practically uncles to these kids.
Life is different now and that’s okay with me I moved away and you started a family But deep inside you and I are still the same kids ‘Cause you’re my brother and that won’t ever change Even though everything changes
Tell me why I look back and I wanna cry Sometimes I feel like we grew up too fast You and I had the time of our younger lives Sometimes I sigh and think about the past But it’s alright ‘Cause everything changes
So I have not posted on here for like three years lol but I just found out about this actor AU created by @irisviel101 and @mistressmiska and I thought I’d share my takes on some characters, inspired by this amazing AU:
The actors of Rika and Touko are childhood best friends. They both auditioned for the role of Touko and it was bittersweet when one of them got the role, and the other didn’t. But Rika’s actor didn’t give up and auditioned for Rika’s role later in the season. They were both struggling to create the initial animosty between Rika and Touko since they were such good friends in real life; they could never keep a straight face when shooting.
Rika’s actor confessed in an interview that she and Rika have very little in common but also said: “Rika’s passion comes from a place of love… a place of wanting to love and wanting to be loved, which is one of the most basic human desires, and I think we can all relate to that”.
Tsunami’s actor is a huge bookworm and his reading recommendations are impeccable as attested by many bookish youtubers who read and evaluate said books.
Tobitaka’s actor can’t cook to save his life, but he bakes the most amazing cakes. He usually brings a batch of pastries with him to set and the directors are always cross with him for ruining the other actors’ - as well as his own - special diet.
Aphrodi’s hair is a wig and it would always take an entire hour to get it on the actor’s head. It was even a bigger challenge to get the wig to actually stay on his head, and God Knows was one of the most complicated hissatsus to film in the entire Inazuma franchise. However, they had no such problem with Saginuma’s actor, whose hair is naturally long, and his actor never fails bring this up in interviews.
My contribution to this 🔥 amazing AU 🔥 by @mistressmiska ! I read some of @vraberika ‘s headcanons and I just couldn’t help but imagine how the cast would interact on social medias (a thought to your social media au ✨). And I had the mental image of Aphrodi’s actor showing his wig to his fans, and the rest of the cast joining the live to make jokes about it hehe
Happy pride everybody! June may be coming to an end, but we’ll never stop being loud and proud (AND projecting onto our favourite fictional characters!) :D
Also, this is my 100th post! Can you believe it?? :0
Some more art for @mistressmiska ‘s wonderful ✨Inazuma Eleven Actors AU✨ !
I’ll probably make more, I sort of find myself inspired by a mix of headcanons from other people, specially @irisviel101 ‘s one about Kidou’s and Fudou’s actors (Suruno Koushin and Saito Haru) being an iconic duo and knowing each other very well/being best buddies irl…
I picture Suruno as a tease, which is why he felt drawn to Fudou’s character first. Saito could seem calmer than his friend but he’s actually mischievous too (he’s just better at hiding it lol).
Saito has been raised in a very cultivated and educated family, he knows a lot of old movies and reads a lot (he gets along well with Tsunami’s actor). His parents are abroad most of the time (they’re doctors in a humanitarian organization), he spent more time with his grandma than with them in his life.
Suruno himself was born in a big family, he has something like 4 or 5 step siblings, his own father left when he was too young to remember and his mother’s current lover (and father of his youngest stepsister) doesn’t really care about him. Being an actor helped him emancipate, and he tries not to have contacts with his family anymore because they’re always asking for money.
Saito definitely drew his inspiration to play Fudou from his best friend.
Suruno actually doesn’t mind having Kidou’s part instead of Fudou. He thinks it was an interesting challenge to play a character living in a rich adoptive family and trying his best to protect and care for his little sister. He liked that he was teased to be season 1′s main villain in the trailers, only to join the “light side” in the mid-season. In the end, he often admits he had more fun playing Kidou than he would have had playing Fudou.
Suruno met Yoshida (Aphrodi’s actor) on the set of Inazuma Eleven and they immediately got along. When Saito joined them on the set of season 2, Suruno was so excited to work with his best friend again he spent almost all his time with him. At first Yoshida felt put aside but then Suruno introduced him to Saito and the three of them became friends. Suruno and Yoshida would often joke about the two of them being villains on their first appearance before redeeming themselves, and hoped Fudou would have the same development in season 3.
The cast was meant to play 15 years old kids but most of them were 16 or 17 when they started shooting season 1, and were around 19-20 years old at the end of season 3. The producer said once they should recast the roles between two seasons but the fans were so upset they gave up on their idea.
These are so freaking great! I imagined Fudou and Kidou’s actors as best friends in that headcanon about them having worked together before and your set of headcanons got that vibe across way better than I ever could.
And also love the thought of them becoming friends with Aphrodi’s actor — sorry, I’m just more used to the canon names. That they all had characters that were introduced as villains and later redeemed is a really nice touch.
Suruno’s family are jerks, and honestly, he’s better off not contacting them. Suruno being more like Fudou than Saito is a funny detail. I really enjoyed that one.
I definitely understand the fans in the last one. Recasting at the final season would have felt odd, even if the reason in understandable.
Also, I really love the pictures. Like someone already pointed put before, I like that in the first one, you can tell that the actors are not behaving as their characters despite being in costume. That was really awesome.
The thought of Yoshida doing these dramatic poses in front of a green screen and everyone else watching him do all that just to kick a ball in a really funny thought. Makes me wonder how they would shoot hissatsus like Fire Tornado, Bakunetsu Storm, Eternal Blizzard, Senpuujin, Flame Dance — basically, all the hissatsus that require excessive movement, especially the midair ones.
Yes, that headcanon of yours about them having worked on other projects together before IE just sent me vibes of the Benedict Cumberbatch/Martin Freeman duo when fans were sorta hyped to know Benedict would dub/perform Smaug since Martin was playing Bilbo. It was such a good idea, I don’t think I could have come across it by myself!
I had fun thinking about Suruno and Saito’s backstory, and I think I’ll build even lore more about them !
The recasting idea came from the parallels you made between IE and Harry Potter; the crew wanted to recast the roles too ! But the fans didn’t let them heheh…
I’m so so glad anytime someone notices that the actors are not “in character” yet on the first drawing, I was afraid it wouldn’t show enough… It’s a good challenge to draw them with attitudes different from their canon self.
It must be so funny to see them shooting their hissatsus ! I think it’s a lot of work, learning the choreographies, and I’m sure they fell a lot practising them, that would make great bloopers hahaha !
Thank you for the nice comment you left on that reblog ! I’m glad you appreciate that post based on your fantastic headcanons 😊
I finally made more content for the actors AU! This post is centered around Jun because I just think he’s neat. :3
So here’s my interpretation of him and some character dynamics based on other people’s headcanons. I’m specifying my interpreation because obviously, we’re not all going to have the same voices for these characters (for example, @ygreczed’s version of these actors act more like realistic teenagers/young adults than mine, who have more exagerated and cartoony personalities). The idea here is not to create a well defined universe with set characters, the idea is to have fun and inspire one another! ^^
I love it !!! You really expressed the whole “Hogo is such a good actor he’s scaring” very well, I wouldn’t have done it better! The way his expression changes on the first page is terrifying ahah… and I love that Suruno and Yakedo get scared when they start texting with him: like “who are you, what happened to Hogo ?!” The scariest part would probably be to watch him while he’s texting, using all those cute emojis but with his face deadly serious.
Also, I know I had a slightly different take on Hogo but I love the fashion sense you gave him: he sure looks NEAT! Mine took on your idea of him being very serious and professional irl but being able to relax a bit when he gets to know everyone on stage. You know I’m sure it would be interesting to look into why Hogo looks so emotionless whenever he’s out of his character! THIS is drama material ! (I live for drama lol, probably why I love IE so much, it’s full of drama and drama queens in there).
And sorry but Haruka with eyeliner? I don’t know if you wanted to draw this specifically or if I’m misreading your art style but— That RESTING B*TCH FACE SQUAD is hilarious! From her interview Haruka sounded kinda mean, I’d love to know more about her now ahah
Ohhh you illustrated that headcanon about Hogo asking Sanae about soccer! I’ve never really been into EnNatsu before (tho I really like their dynamic in canon OG, I didn’t like how Natsumi became a housewife in GO when she’s THE girl-boss), BUT this AU is making me reconsider them! They’d really be a good match!
I hope I didn’t pressure you to draw faster for this AU ! I’ve often been told I was a fast artist (I don’t think so but ??), and when I’m into something well… I may be a bit too much ahah!
